General Questions
YALI (Yemen America Language Institute) is a premier English language education center offering comprehensive programs including General English, TOEFL iBT preparation, Business English, and specialized courses. We provide both in-person and online learning options with experienced instructors and modern teaching methods.
Our center is open Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We're closed on Fridays. Online classes and support are available 24/7 through our learning platform.
Yes, we offer free placement tests to determine your current English level. The test includes speaking, listening, reading, and writing components and takes approximately 60 minutes. You can schedule your placement test online or by visiting our center.
Yes, YALI certificates are internationally recognized and accredited. Our TOEFL iBT preparation program is officially authorized by ETS, and our general English certificates are accepted by universities and employers worldwide.
Programs & Courses
We offer six levels of English instruction: Beginner (A1), Elementary (A2), Pre-Intermediate (B1), Intermediate (B2), Upper-Intermediate (C1), and Advanced (C2). Each level is designed to build upon the previous one with comprehensive skill development.
Each level typically takes 12 weeks to complete with regular attendance (3 classes per week). However, the duration may vary based on your learning pace, attendance, and the intensity of the program you choose. We also offer accelerated options for faster completion.
Our TOEFL iBT course includes comprehensive training for all four sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing), official ETS materials, full-length practice tests, individual feedback sessions, test-taking strategies, and access to our online practice platform. The course runs for 8 weeks with intensive preparation.
Yes, we offer flexible learning options. You can switch between in-person and online classes with advance notice, subject to availability. Our hybrid learning approach allows you to attend some classes in person and others online within the same course.
Enrollment & Registration
You can enroll by visiting our center, calling us, or applying online through our website. The process includes: 1) Taking a placement test, 2) Choosing your program and schedule, 3) Completing the registration form, 4) Making payment, and 5) Receiving your class schedule and materials.
For registration, you need: a valid ID (passport or national ID), two passport-size photos, completed registration form, and proof of payment. For TOEFL courses, you may also need to provide your target test date and score requirements.
We accept students aged 16 and above for our regular programs. For students under 18, parental consent is required. We also offer specialized programs for teenagers (13-17) and young learners with age-appropriate curricula and teaching methods.
Yes, you can join ongoing classes within the first two weeks, provided you have the appropriate English level. We'll assess your current skills and may provide catch-up materials to help you integrate smoothly with the class.
Fees & Payment
Course fees vary by program: General English (12 weeks) - $300, TOEFL iBT Preparation (8 weeks) - $400, Business English (10 weeks) - $350, Private tutoring - $25/hour. Online courses are offered at a 15% discount. Contact us for current promotions and group discounts.
We accept cash, bank transfers, credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard), and mobile payment methods. Online payments can be made through our secure payment portal. Installment plans are available for courses longer than 8 weeks.
Yes, we offer refunds according to our policy: 100% refund if cancelled before course start, 75% refund within the first week, 50% refund within the second week, and no refund after the second week. Administrative fees may apply.
Course fees include all materials, access to online resources, and certificates. Additional fees may apply for: replacement student ID ($5), extra textbooks ($15-25), makeup classes ($10), and expedited certificate processing ($15).
Online Learning & Technical Support
You need: a stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps), a computer/tablet/smartphone, a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari), microphone and speakers/headphones, and a webcam for interactive sessions. Our platform works on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.
After enrollment, you'll receive login credentials for our learning platform. Classes can be accessed through our website or mobile app. You'll get email reminders before each live session with direct links to join the virtual classroom.
All live classes are recorded and available for 30 days. You can access recordings, class materials, and assignments through your student portal. For important sessions, we also offer makeup classes or one-on-one catch-up sessions.
Technical support is available 24/7 through: live chat on our website, email support (support@yali.edu.ye), phone support during business hours, and video tutorials in our help center. Our response time is typically under 2 hours.
